They have call center agents in both the United States and the Philippines, and offer services to their clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Support.com hires Technical Support Agents to work from home in many states across the United States.

Overview of the Technical Support Agent

The following is a general overview. The exact duties, requirements, and pay will vary depending on the client.

 

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of the Technical Support Agents include:

  • Answering calls from customers.
  • Educate customers on how to use products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Explain and instruct customers on the use of products and services.
  • Upselling products and services to customers.
  • Attempting to retain customers’ business.

Education and Qualifications Needed

  • You must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • You need to have 1 to 2 years of customer service or sales experience.
  • You should be able to navigate through multiple computer applications quickly.
  • You’ll need to be able to type 40 to 50 words per minute.

Technical and Home Office Requirements

  • You must have a computer with high-speed, hard-wired internet service, Windows 8 or higher, and anti-virus software.
  • Noise-cancelling, corded headset.
  • Webcam and external mouse.
  • Landline or cell phone.
  • Your computer must have two physical cores @ 2.7 GHz Processor or better.
  • 4 physical cores @ 2.2 GHz processor or better.
  • At least 4GB RAM.
  • Multiple monitors with 1080 pixels.
  • Internet connection speed must be at least 10Mbps download and 2Mbps upload.

Training

All training for these positions is done remotely, and you’re paid for all training.

Pay and Benefits

The starting pay for these positions will vary according to the client, however, most appear to start around $12 per hour.

These positions are employee, W-2 positions and eligible employees will receive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401K.
