Overview of the Customer Service Representative

 

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this position include:

  • Handle a high volume of calls each day.
  • Maintain awareness of the way performance and actions affect members. 
  • Provide new and existing members with outstanding customer service.
  • Assist new and existing customers with enrolment, billing, benefits, and claims questions.
  • Assist new and current customers with general inquiries and complaints they may have.
  • Assist customers via phone, email, and chat.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and efficiently. 

Education and Qualifications Needed

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following:

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Must have previous customer service experience.
  • Must have prior call center experience.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
  • Have the ability to quickly navigate multiple computer screens simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment while also working independently without continual supervision.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have outstanding reading comprehension skills.
  • Must have superb attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to multitask and stay calm under pressure. 

Technical Requirements

You must have a quiet home office free from distractions and high-speed, hard-wired internet service.
