Overview of the Chat Specialist
Responsibilities of a Chat Specialist
The Chat Specialist plays an essential role in the company because they will be the first person that a customer will speak to when contacting the company. Some of the duties include but are not limited to:
- Answer the company’s main telephone line.
- Assist existing and potential customers with questions and concerns.
- Make sure customers are happy and satisfied.
- Identify the needs of each customer.
- Research issues and provide customers with solutions or alternatives.
Education and Qualifications Needed
- Be proficient in English.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have excellent telephone skills.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Must be dependable.
- Strong customer service skills.
- The ability to multi-task.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Skilled at using Zoom, Skype, Slack, and Google Suite.
The training for the Chat Specialist position is entirely remote and lasts anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.
The position is full-time, working 40 hours per week. And it states in the job posting that the hours are Monday through Friday, during regular business hours for the United States; however, they require that you be flexible with your schedule.
Even though the working hours are for the United States, you don’t need to live in the United States in order to be considered for this position.
Pay and Benefits
The Chat Specialist position is considered an entry-level position. The starting pay is $2000 per month, which equates to about $12.50 per hour. After five months (the company’s probationary period), they raise the pay to $2500 per month, which is approximately $15.60 per hour.
This position allows you to work from anywhere in the world.
