Call centers were probably among the first industries to start remote working, and some have been letting their employees work from home for many years.

These jobs are usually great starting points for those with no previous remote working experience and who are looking to work at home. Most call centers don’t require any prior experience working at home, and some don’t even require any past customer service experience.

Most call center jobs are considered entry-level and only require a high school diploma or a GED. However, at times there may be clients that require a college degree.

Some of the skills needed to work in a call center include the following:

Equipment Needed for a Work at Home Call Center Job

Since call center jobs are usually phone-related, you’ll need to have a quiet workspace. You must have a desktop or laptop computer and high-speed internet service. You will need to have a noise-canceling headset with a mute button.

Some companies require you to have landline telephone service, and a few require dual monitors.

You should carefully read the technical requirements for each company since they can differ from one company to another.

This company specializes in outsourced call center services. They hire Customer Service Representatives to work at home. They offer full-time, part-time, and flexible gig shifts.

  • Accolade Support

They offer 24/7 service and support to their clients’ customers, so they have various shifts. All positions are independent contractor positions.

ACD Direct is a call center services company that’s been in business since 2000. They hire agents to work at home in customer service roles.

Alorica offers outsourced call center services and hires remote, at-home agents for customer service, technical support, and sales functions. Many of their projects operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so they offer a vast collection of schedules. They have both full-time and part-time positions, and they let you choose your schedule.
